Experience with water utilities shows that energy consumption can be saved through investments with positive financial return characteristics, and consequently, CO2 emissions from electricity production is reduced. The project aims to understand and describe energy related processes by evaluation of system functionality on the water supply system; set technical recommendations for investment and improvement of water distribution system and collection system operation rules; and organize capacity building to ensure sustainability. The result of the project will be a feasibility study based on which the financing of developments can be secured.
