II Hungarian Battery Day

The II Hungarian Battery Day 2022 was organized in Budapest by the Hungarian Battery Association (HUBA) and the White Paper Consulting to promote the development of the Hungarian battery industry and its integration in Europe. The Western Balkans Green Center joint the event as an associated partner.

The event also launched a new government action plan for the development of the Hungarian battery value-chain and in relation to Hungary's net-zero climate target for 2050. For a successful green transition, the development of suitable storage technologies and the necessary batteries are essential.
Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, pointed out that Hungary is ranked 3rd in the world in terms of battery production capacity and 5th in terms of exports.
Attila Steiner, State-secretary of the Ministry of Technology and Industry mentioned the Hungarian government's plan to tackle the energy crisis. At the same time, he assured the audience about the secured energy supply for the forthcoming period.
